Kayaking Photo Tour on the American River
Join Lewis Kemper in his tandem kayak as he takes you on a tour of his favorite stretch of the American River. Lewis has been kayaking and photographing on this section of the river for over 9 years and knows the best locations for a wide range of wildlife.
Overview:
This one-on-one 2-hour tour will get you up close and personal with the wildlife of the American River. Lewis frequently photographs beaver, otters, deer, coyote, egrets, herons, geese, ducks and more. And no kayaking experience is needed--Lewis does all the work! All you need to do is sit back and take pictures. Lewis will do all the paddling. You don’t even have to get your feet wet. Lewis will launch you and retrieve you back to shore. Life jacket and dry bag will be provided. All you need to do is dress appropriately for the weather. Lewis recommends a telephoto lens in the 100-400 or up to 600mm range. Optional would be a second camera with a wide-angle zoom for scenery images.
Your Schedule:
Lewis recommends an early start to capture the best light and wildlife. He will provide all the instructions for your meet-up and what to bring in advance of the big day. Depending on time of year this means a start time between 6-7 am. To book a date use the link below to the booking calendar. Just select an available date and pick the 6 AM time slot.
